My Answer:

The strange thing is - I don't drive.

When I was a kid, I would bring a book with me to read when my parents were driving. Now as an adult, if I'm a passenger in somebody's car, I don't take a book a with me.

  1. If I am not driving I am often reading. It helps on long drives to distract me from getting car sick.

  2. I probably read more when I'm driving than when I'm a passenger! When I'm driving I'm usually listening to an audio book if I'm by myself where I do read some while on long road trips but I have to be careful or I'll get carsick!

    1. You scared me when I read the first sentence. :) I thought "she reads while driving?"

Audios are great for while you are driving to work or long trips.

I deleted my first comment because I saw a typo after it was published. :)

  4. How ironic that you used to take a book with you in the car when you were a kid, but don't do so now. It's just too easy to get distracted in a car, though.

When I was a kid, I couldn't really read in my parents' car, as I had to share the back seat with my two sisters, and that was definitely distracting! Lol.

Happy reading in other places!! And have a great weekend, too!! : )

(P.S. I was FINALLY able to become a GFC follower!)

  7. I am not sure I would ever be able to not drive. I need the car as much as I need books!

    1. To go get said books.
    2. Sometimes you really just need to escape and my car provides that!

    Happy weekend :)

  8. Being an adult puts a bit of a damper on reading in the car when you are expected to make conversation with others. I don't mind so much as I enjoy talking to my husband and daughter. :-)

  9. I can't read a book in the car but for some reason I can read a Kindle, Nook or iPad in the car. I am not sure why this would be true but a book makes me dizzy and sick to my stomach. Of course, I still read books in the car......I LOVE reading. I just never looked out the windows and would shut my eyes and sleep about 30 minutes before we got to our location.
